Yellow Rose Week
June 8th - 12th, 2009

The Suzanne Jacobson Memorial Giving Fund was created in memory of Suzanne Jacobson, a Watertown Physician's Assistant and community health advocate, who lost a long battle with ovarian cancer on October 4, 1998.

The Suzanne Jacobson Memorial Giving Fund gives money to people in medical crisis in our area, including, but not limited to, people in Codington, Clark, Day, Deuel, Grant, Hamlin and Roberts counties in South Dakota.   The funds are distributed by local people who meet to administer financial assistance to people in need.  Recipients of these funds are people who are receiving medical care in our area and who are having trouble making ends meet with their medical expenses.  They may receive assistance in an amount up to $500 per year.

Proceeds from Yellow Rose Week will help fund the work of the Suzanne Jacobson Memorial Giving Fund.  That means, for every rose purchased at a participating location, money from the purchase will go to help a person in medical crisis.  And that makes the yellow roses you buy special not only to the person who receives them, but also to the person you are helping through a difficult situation.

Fresh Yellow Roses
